St. Augustine’s is a vibrant space that welcomes students, groups associated with Vanderbilt University, Chapel attendees, and guests from the wider community to host meetings, celebrations, and services at our A-frame Chapel.
Local Groups
Part of St. Augustine's mission is to serve the Vanderbilt University students, faculty, staff and wider community. We welcome groups to use our facility for meetings, events, and celebrations. For example, during the academic year the Chapel welcomes:
- Six college student groups meet at the Chapel weekly including Wesley/Canterbury Fellowship, Campus Crusade and Commodores for Christ
- AA
- TCYPAA (young adult AA group)
- Vanderbilt Off Broadway
- EFM
- Center for Contemplative Justice (CCJ) Board Meetings
- Magdalene Board of Directors
- Vanderbilt's Room in the Inn program
Visiting Mission Groups
Student groups, traveling from out of town (or even across town) to offer mission work or visit the Vanderbilt campus, may stay overnight with prior arrangements. The number of people who can be accommodated totals 15. This past year, we've been visited by several groups including Wartburg College in Waverly, IA; Trinity Church in Menlo Park, CA; and the Urban Mission youth group from Nashville's Christ Church Cathedral.
Weddings

Memorial Services
St. Augustine’s Chapel is available for remembering and celebrating the lives of the deceased. Please contact the ministerial staff or .
General Facility Information
The A-frame Chapel has a full-service kitchen and two showers in each male and female restroom. For sleeping, the space will accommodate up to 15 overnight visitors.
For services and events, the capacity of the Sanctuary, foyer, and fellowship area totals 150 people.

Parking
Parking is limited, especially during the academic year. In the fall and the winter, be sure to click here to check the Vanderbilt Athletic Schedule and academic calendar to determine any campus events which may be occurring when you wish to schedule use of the Chapel.
For Sunday services, parking is available at the parking lot at Benton Chapel and also in Vanderbilt lots 1 and 2, which may be entered through the campus drive at West End and 23rd Ave. South or off of 21st Ave. South.
Public parking is available between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday at meters on West End Ave. After 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays, these same spots are available for free.
