Adult Education Fall 2017
The Adult Education fall series will welcome a diverse array of speakers, and be edified by the union of hearts gathering to better know the God of our understanding. Join us and then head back out to love the world with a fuller and deeper knowledge of the holiness that BEAUTY, GOODNESS AND TRUTH reveal to us.

SEPTEMBER - KNOWING GOD THROUGH BEAUTY
9/10: An opening discussion led by Ian Cron
9/17: Dave Perkins will facilitate a dialogue around the ways that beauty can become a doorway to spiritual transcendence.
9/24: Nita Andrews will offer suggestions on how to notice beauty and how that discerning can help us relate to one another.
OCTOBER - KNOWING GOD THROUGH TRUTH
10/1: An opening discussion led by Ian Cron
10/8: Retreat/No Forum
10/15: A.J. Levine will guide our exploration of “What is Truth?”
The truth, however defined, is not always obvious. Luke’s “parable of the dishonest steward” (Luke 16.1-13 generously) raises questions of “truth” in various ways.
10/22: Don Welch will guide a discussion on how different assumptions about the Christian faith influence different understandings of "discipleship" among believers.
10/29: David Hutchens will point us back to our experiences and help use these stories to supports the sense of community.
NOVEMBER - KNOWING GOD THROUGH GOODNESS
11/5: An opening discussion led by Ian Cron
11/12: Lee Camp will facilitate
“Truth, Beauty, and Goodness: Reflections on Rowan Williams’ meditation on aesthetics."
11/19: Becca Stevens will lead a discussion about the connection between goodness and justice, using the story of the Good Samaritan.
DECEMBER - CONCLUSION
12/3 - Ian Cron will lead a concluding discussion on Beauty, Truth, and Goodness in light of liturgy.
12/10 - Scott Owings will help us explore how contemplative justice nourishes and informs Beauty, Truth, and Goodness.
