Walk in Love

  • St. Anselm's Episcopal Church 2008 Meharry Boulevard Nashville, TN, 37208 United States (map)

Walk in love is an annual multi-faith prayer walk that commemorates the courage of Nashville's civil rights activists. Honoring the legacy of Z. Alexander Looby, James Lawson, Diane Nash, John Lewis, Kelly Miller Smith, C.T. Vivian, and 3000 other protesters, we mark this day in April as a day of solidarity when diverse communities gather to demand that our government fulfill its ethical responsibility to treat all human beings as free and equal in dignity and rights. We believe that together we can wake up our legislators to the reality of civil inequity and spur them to draft laws that protect the long term interests of people of all social ranks and economic standings.

This year's Walk in love event will occur on April 20th in light of April 19th being Good Friday.t will begin at 1:30PM in front of the TSU auditorium. This starting point is the recommended for those who are students and those who would like to walk a further distance.
