The welcome Garden & CSA
The Welcome Garden is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm started in 2023 on the land of Doug and Anne Hardin in Goodlettsville, in collaboration with the Center for Contemplative Justice and the St A’s Justice Salon community. The Welcome Garden grows local, organic produce for our community which stewards the land well and extend a place of welcome to all.
Join the Welcome Garden’s CSA and help support people and planet!
The Welcome Garden's vision is to welcome our new neighbors within a natural space offering community support, an opportunity to develop skills, and healing. We strive to become better stewards of the land by growing organic produce with regenerative farming practices. We pursue justice for those working in agriculture and seek to provide healthy food for low-income families.
Please invest in our CSA shares to help support our new neighbors, makes our project sustainable, and become part of this beloved community!
$800 provides organic fruit and vegetables for 30 weeks from late May to late November; only $25/ week!

Sharing the blessings of the Welcome Garden
Our Welcome Garden has been riotously fruitful so far this Spring, with harvests of greens, vegetables, and eggs so abundant that we have food to share with our immigrant and refugee friends who have limited access to fresh foods! This year we are partnering with Remix and Inspiritus, nonprofits that serve these communities, as we will also continue sharing our excess harvest with Magdalen households.
Friends who have invested in our CSA shares provide the majority of our expenses to pay our farmer and other necessary supplies for the Garden throughout the season and, most importantly, to pay the workers’ cooperative that faithfully shows up to plant, tend and harvest in the Garden.
2025 stats:
Harvested over 20,000 pounds of produce and thousands of duck and chicken eggs.
Besides distributing about 60 CSA shares per week, we were able to donate almost half of our harvest to:
Our new neighbors who work in the garden
Remix
VUMC families in need
Magdalen Houses And
Inspiritus
With the Welcome Gardens expanding community within St Augustine’s, our new neighbors and others, we celebrated:
A garden blessing in the spring
A successful fundraiser during late summer to help compensate for loss of a federal grant
Our new neighbor’s formation of the Fertile Land Coop in the fall
A beautiful worship service and 100 mile potluck on the farm in November
A Los Posados on Vanderbilt campus during the season of Lent
